John J. York (Mac, General Hospital) discovered that one man's trash is another man's treasure when he gave a beat up old desk to former GH co-star Cheryl Richardson (ex-Jenny Hornsby) and her husband, Forry Smith (ex-Reese Walker, Santa Barbara).  "It was a neat desk with lots of drawers and a pullout top.  I was using it as a junk table in my garage," John says, noting that over time "it got dirty and rained on, so the wood warped.  I was ready to throw it out.  To me, it was garbage."

Forry, however, disagreed.  "We were shooting baskets out by my garage one day, when he says, 'What a cool desk!  What are you going to do with it?' " John recalls.  "I said, 'Throw it away.  It's a piece of junk.'  Well, Forry wanted it.  So I gave it to him."

A few weeks later, John stopped by Forry and Cheryl's house and couldn't believe his eyes.  "They painted it white, put glass over the top and handles on the drawers," John relates.  "Forry's got his computer on it.  Now it's this totally cool piece of office furniture."
