Three Port Charles Denizens Take The Digest Trivia Challenge

We went deep into the venerable heart of General Hospital to find three able-bodied (and -minded) trivia whizzes who were willing to demonstrate the health, wealth and stealth of their GH knowledge.  Here's who gave it a shot...

1)  What was the name of the bar that Luke managed in the late '70s?

ZEMAN:  The Campus Disco.  We did a lot of scenes there.
YORK:  Don't know.
TAMBLYN:  Emily's Brothel?
DIGEST:  The Campus Disco
Points:  One for Zeman.

2) What does the L&B in L&B Records stand for?  Bonus:  Name their first two artists signed.

ZEMAN:  I don't know any of that.  I never worked with any of those people!
YORK:  I think the first artist was Ricky Martin, Miguel Morez.  And also Ned.  Or was it his alias, Eddie Maine?  I know L&B represents someone's names.  Lucy and Brenda?
TAMBLYN:  It stands for Lois and Brenda.  Miguel Morez and Ned?  Eddie Maine.
DIGEST:  Lois and Brenda; Miguel Morez and Eddie Maine.
Points:  Four for Tamblyn; three for York.

3) What fitness guru used to teach aerobics to the ladies at G.H.?

ZEMAN:  Richard Simmons.  He's still teaching away.
YORK:  Decker?  Richard Simmons!
TAMBLYN:  Wasn't that Richard Simmons?
DIGEST:  Richard Simmons.
Points:  Everybody gets a point.

4) What are all the last names Carly has used since coming to town?

ZEMAN:  Benson was her adoptive mother's name.  Then she married A.J., so Quartermaine.  Then she married Sonny, so Corinthos.  Did she take Jason's name?  I don't remember.  Caroline was her real name.  Do I get extra credit for that?
YORK:  Carly Benard?  Sarah Maurice?  Carly Corinthos.  She was just married to A.J., so Quartermaine.  I used to cheat in school.  I'm not good at this.  I need to read off someone's paper!
TAMBLYN:  Carly Roberts...Carly Benson...isn't there a Quartermaine?  And Corinthos.  I know that because I'm a Sarah Brown [Carly] fan.
DIGEST:  Roberts, Benson, Quartermaine and Corinthos.
Points:  Tamblyn gets four points; three for the Z; two for York.

5) Who saved Nikolas the night he was shot outside of Luke's club?  Bonus:  How did this Good Samaritan do it?

ZEMAN:  Oh, [former Head Writer] Bob Guza's big shootout.  I wasn't working any of those days, couldn't tell you.
YORK:  Sonny saved Nikolas.  Johnny [laughs]?  Carly?  A.J.?  I give.
TAMBLYN:  Jason.  He gave him a tracheotomy.
DIGEST:  Jason; he performed an emergency tracheotomy.
Points:  Tamblyn gets two points.

6)  What was the name of the strip bar that Sonny used to run?

ZEMAN:  Was I ever there [laughs]?  Did we have strippers on?  Who played those parts?
YORK:  The Sunshine something... Paradise something?  Paradise Lounge.
TAMBLYN:  Oh, man.  I think it's Paradise Lounge.
DIGEST:  The Paradise Lounge.
Points:  York and Tamblyn get a point.

7) Name each of Bobbie's husbands.

ZEMAN:  Bobbie Spencer-Brock-Meyer-Jones-Cassadine-Almost Jacks-Spencer [laughs].  So, it was D.L. Brock, Jake, Tony, Stefan and almost Jerry.
YORK:  Roy DiLucca.  Alan Quartermaine?  I know Lucy married Alan.  Oh, Bobbie was married to Tony.  And Stefan.
TAMBLYN:  Oh, God.  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  No, there's Tony ... Roy.  No Roy.  Stefan ... Scott Baldwin ... Laura Spencer ... Brenda Barrett ... Lila Quartermaine....
DIGEST:  D.L. Brock, Jake Meyer, Tony Jones and Stefan Cassadine.
Points:  Four for Zeman [duh!]; two each for Tamblyn and York.

8) How did Lesley Webber "die" back in 1984?  Bonus:  Where was she really?

ZEMAN:  She died in a car accident.  I was in the scenes where they brought her in on the stretcher [laughs]!  One of those Cassadines -- Stefan -- put her in a sanitarium or a home, where they were drugging her and keeping her captive.
YORK:  She died working in a circus.  She fell from a high wire.  And she was really in New Jersey, re-soling shoes.
TAMBLYN:  Wasn't she shot or something, but Helena was really hiding her?  Or Stefan was really hiding her?
DIGEST:  A car accident; she was hidden away by Stefan.
Points:  Two for Zeman; one for Tamblyn.

9) What is Alexis's real first name?

ZEMAN:  Luke calls her something all the time.  Natasha?
YORK:  Sasha!  Zsa-Zsa?  Can I buy a vowel?
TAMBLYN:  Lasha?  No, Natasha.
DIGEST:  Natasha.
Points:  Zeman and Tamblyn score a point apiece.

10)  What royal title does Felicia hold?

ZEMAN:  I remember her wedding dress was very intricate.  But I don't know.
YORK:  She's an Aztec princess.  I love her, but I guess it's over with us.  Very sad.
TAMBLYN:  She's the princess of the ice queen age or something.  She's princess of the Egyptians.  I know she's the princess of something.
DIGEST:  Aztec princess.
Points:  One for York; half a point for Tamblyn.

11) What do the Quartermaines usually feast on for Thanksgiving?

ZEMAN:  Pizza, isn't it?
YORK:  Duck.  Turkey.  Pizza!
TAMBLYN:  Pizza.
DIGEST:  Pizza
Points:  One point for everybody.

12)  Which Port Charles-ians are still pictured in GH's opening credits?

ZEMAN:  Lynn [Herring, Lucy] and Kin [Shriner, Scott].
YORK:  Jon and Lynn, Lucy and Kevin.
TAMBLYN:  Lucy and Kevin.
DIGEST:  Lynn Herring and Jon Lindstrom [Kevin].
Points:  York and Tamblyn snag two points; Zeman gets one.

13) What was the name of the rock band Frisco Jones used to sing for?

ZEMAN:  Don't know.
YORK:  Don't know ... but I can't wait to find out!
TAMBLYN:  Actually, I think I have a couple of their CDs.
DIGEST:  The Riff Raff.
Points:  No points for anyone.

14)  Where was Ned and Lois's big wedding held?

ZEMAN:  I didn't go to that wedding, but they got married in Brooklyn.  I never worked with either of those characters.
YORK:  Oh, the roller coaster!  No, wait -- in the Quartermaine mansion.  No, Brooklyn.  These are great questions.  There's a General Hospital Monopoly board game in here someplace.
TAMBLYN:  It was in a big church in Brooklyn.
DIGEST:  Brooklyn.

15) With whom did Monica have an affair after surviving breast cancer?

ZEMAN:  Oooh, Dr. Dorman.
YORK:  Dr. Tuc!  Tuc Watkins played him.  Dr. Dorman.
TAMBLYN:  Dorman.
DIGEST:  Dr. Pierce Dorman.
Points:  Points all around.

16) Which prominent lawyer used to sing at the Outback?

ZEMAN:  Oh, Vanita [Harbour], Dara.  She's a beautiful singer.
YORK:  Certainly wasn't Scotty Baldwin.  Vanita Harbour, Dara Jensen.
TAMBLYN:  Dara?
DIGEST:  A.D.A. Dara Jensen.
Points:  Everyone scores a point.

17) How did Katherine Bell "die" the first time?  Bonus:  Who was with her?

ZEMAN:  It was at that ball, the Bacchanalia Ball.  She fell off the parapet.  And maybe Stefan was there.
YORK:  She fell accidentally from the parapet.  I think she was arguing with either Luke or Stefan.  Stefan.  And Laura.
TAMBLYN:  She was pushed off the parapet?  No, with a knife, in the kitchen, with Miss Peacock.  Actually, it was Col. Mustard with a rope in the ballroom.  She was with Stefan and Laura.
DIGEST:  She fell from a Wyndemere parapet; Laura and Stefan.
Points:  Three points for York; two for Zeman and Tamblyn.

18) Where are Liz Webber's parents?

ZEMAN:  Who are her parents?  Is that Ricky Dean [Anderson, ex-Jeff]?  Jeff was her father.  Well, he's living in Malibu; he's actually my neighbor [laughs]!
YORK:  Uh, they're actually living in the shop right next to where Lesley was soling shoes in New Jersey.
TAMBLYN:  Iraq, right?
DIGEST:  Wrong --- Bosnia.
Points:  No points for anybody.

19)  How did Tony's first wife, Tania, die?

ZEMAN:  Car accident?
YORK:  Don't know.
TAMBLYN:  She was in a car accident.  Next question!
DIGEST:  She was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
Points:  Half-points for Zeman and Tamblyn.

20)  Who took over Mac's life in 1997?

ZEMAN:  Couldn't tell you.
YORK:  James Meadows.  Boy, I'd better know that one.
TAMBLYN:  Hector?  I have no idea.  Cam -- Mac spelled backward?
DIGEST:  James Meadows.
Points:  One point for York.

And The Winner Is ... [Amber Tamblyn]

No trivia transfusions needed here!  She scored 25 points out of a possible 34, so we happily bestow the minutiae mantle upon Tamblyn.  Strong contenders York and Zeman followed with a healthy 20 and 19 1/2 points, respectively.  Our diagnosis?  All three players proved themselves fine specimens in the HOSPITAL triviality department.
