Upon returning from Texas, Felicia got out of a cab with Maxie and was
about to enter the Brownstone when someone from behind stuffed a drug-soaked
rag in her face. The result of this was Felicia getting amnesia.
Mac hired her at the Outback as a bartender and during her time bartending, Felicia kept having nightmares about being chased by a man she witnessed killing a women with an ice pick in Texas. Meanwhile, she began dating a man named Todd Wilson (aka Ryan Chamberlain). He was able to charm everyone in town except Mac who, even after watching him save Robin from choking, wasn't convinced "Todd" was everything he said he was.
At this point, Mac received his detective's license and began delving into Felicia's time in Texas. As M&F spent more and more time together working at the Outback, "Todd" began to resent Mac and his budding friendship with Felicia. Mac decided to fly down to Texas to check out a lead concerning Felicia and told her to stay and take care of the Outback while he was away. Though, wanting to go, she decided with a little help from "Todd" that it would be best if she stayed put. "Todd" then put his plan into action and sabotaged Mac's plane before he left.
Unbeknown to Todd however, was the fact that Felicia changed her mind and decided to join Mac on his trip. While on their trip, M&F continued to grow closer (Mac gave her some flying lessons). Something went wrong with the plane and Mac had to crash land it in a field. They were both okay and they found shelter in a barn. Although nothing "happened," sparks between the two began to ignite.
Eventually, they both made it down to Texas and Felicia had a memory breakthrough; she remembered her grandmother Maria and had memories of Frisco. Meanwhile, "Todd" was worried about Felicia after finding out that she went with Mac, but was happy when he found out she was okay; though his feelings concerning Mac were quite the opposite.
It was upon M&F returning from Texas that Mac admitted to himself and Felicia that he had feelings for her. Felicia & Mac decided to take their "relationship" slowly as Felicia was still trying to sort through her amnesia, "Todd," and Mac. At the same time, "Todd" began fantasizing about marrying Felicia. He invited her up to a cabin in the woods; complete with a wedding dress and ring as he was planning on proposing to her right there on the spot. During a moment of passion between the two, "Todd" accidentally blurted out the name of the woman he'd killed in Texas. The name sparked Felicia's memory and she remembered that "Todd" was the man she'd seen kill the woman.
Meanwhile, Mac, who was back at the Outback, began worrying about Felicia because she hadn't called home on Maxie's birthday. Mac found out where the cabin was and went off to find her. Felicia was panicking, trying to get away from Ryan and he went ballistic. Felicia grabbed a knife and began stabbing Ryan. Mac arrived in time to see Felicia standing over a bleeding Ryan and got him to the hospital, where Monica saved his life.
Felicia told Mac everything that happened and of course he believed her, but the police didn't and charged her with attempted murder. Through the trial, Ryan was able to show the jury how much he loved Felicia, and witnesses were told of Felicia's instability. She was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in a mental hospital. While in the hospital, Ryan visited her and a guard tormented her and nearly raped her, but Mac arrived just in time and stopped him. The two of them escaped through the air ducts and went on the run from Ryan and the police.
After they escaped from the mental hospital, they stayed hidden from Ryan with the help of Sean and Holly, and set about searching for clues from Ryan's past. They found out that Ryan had killed seven women, including his mother and used this against him. In order to get Ryan off their backs, Sean reported back to the PCPD that Felicia had been "killed" and Mac had been seriously wounded in a car accident while on the run down in Texas. Everyone in town was "devastated" (everybody except Ryan knew she was really alive) and a funeral was held for Felicia.
With the help of Bobbie and others at the hospital (where Ryan worked as a pediatrician), M&F wired Ryan's computer to come on while he was in his office, with pictures of his mother who talked to him using Felicia's "dead" voice. M&F were trying to get him to confess to killing all those women and get it on tape. Ryan was freaking out but wouldn't confess to doing anything wrong, so Felicia got all made up to look like a ghost and surprised him one night. She was able to get Ryan to confess and get it on tape, but while leaving, she slipped and cut herself. Ryan, seeing blood, realized what was going on and went after Felicia. Mac was watching and came to her rescue and after a fight, Ryan got away.
M&F and Sean followed Ryan back down to Texas. During the chase, Ryan got Felicia and took her to "Broken Top" (a cliff near Maria's place). Mac & Sean followed and Felicia managed to get away and pushed Ryan off the cliff. He survived and Mac & Sean took him back to PC for his trial.
Felicia then returned to PC and to her job at the Outback where she and Mac admitted their feelings for one another, shared a first kiss, and then a "first date." Their date "heated up" and they wound up becoming very passionate at Felicia's apartment until they were interrupted by Maxie, which led Felicia to wonder how Mac would fit into their lives. Based on their discussion that night, M&F decided to "cool" down their relationship.
Meanwhile, Ryan was put away in jail after being convicted of murder. He slashed his own wrists on purpose while in jail so he'd be taken to GH. Because he was familiar with the makeup of the hospital, he was able to escape by repelling down the side of the hospital at night from his window. The night he escaped, he was going after Felicia, but she wasn't home, so he killed Jessica (who was pregnant with Sean's baby).
Sean admitted to killing Jessica (to protect Tiffany who he thought really did it), but M&F were convinced it wasn't Sean and went ahead trying to prove it wasn't Tiffany either. Upon looking for clues, they both realized that Ryan did it and tried to prove it. Felicia "drugged" muffins for Ryan to get him back into the hospital, then M&F waited for him at the Brownstone. While waiting, Mac proposed to Felicia.
Felicia, scared of committing after having been "burned" by Frisco, turned down Mac's proposal. Mac told Felicia that if she wouldn't marry him it was over between them because he couldn't "be with her and not be with her anymore." Felicia went to bed and Mac stayed downstairs, but soon he heard noises. Ryan had gotten in and he had Felicia. Mac & Ryan fought, and this time Ryan was caught in the act and he was sent back to prison. Felicia thanked Mac and told him the Ryan part of their life was over and that she wanted to celebrate. Mac told her that she should, that she deserved it, and to "have a good time (without him)."
Mac tried to move on without Felicia, however Felicia realized her answer should have been "yes" to Mac's proposal. After resistance from Mac, Felicia finally made him believe that she truly did love him and she "proposed." Mac accepted Felicia's proposal, and for the first time, they made love. Afterwards, they spoke about their upcoming wedding and how much they would like to have a child of their own.
Felicia decided to get Mac a wedding present and bought him the shares of the Outback that were being held by Jenny Eckert, making Mac the full owner. They set a date for their wedding --- February 9th, and later Mac gave Felicia an engagement ring (which he hid in the snorkel gear they were going to take with them to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia on their honeymoon). By this time, M&F had joined forces in Mac's detective agency.
The day of their wedding came, and in the middle of the ceremony, it was discovered that Ryan was sitting in the church with a bomb. Mac & Paul Hornsby saved the day by getting the bomb out of the church before anyone was hurt. Mac followed Ryan upstairs where they fought, causing both of them to fall over the railing smashing into the floor below. Mac was brought to the hospital, leaving M&F still unmarried.
At the hospital M&F decided they should get married right then and there, but soon after, Mac went into a coma. Luckily he wasn't comatose for long. Felicia brought him home from the hospital on Valentine's Day, just in time to receive a gift Frisco sent for Maxie.
Soon after, Maxie got very sick with Kawasaki Syndrome and needed to have heart transplant surgery to survive. After some convincing from Mac, Felicia decided Frisco should know what was happening with his daughter. Unable to reach Frisco by phone, Mac took off to find him.
Mac risked his life looking for Frisco in Somalia. Mac found him and although there was tension between the two, he helped him with his WSB mission so Frisco would be able to leave for Port Charles.
At the hospital, Frisco & Felicia became close again while consoling each other over their dying daughter. Mac saw the way Felicia looked at Frisco and realized that Felicia never looked at him that way. Not wanting to add to Felicia's problems, Mac didn't intend to talk to her about this at the hospital, but Felicia sensed something was wrong and wanted to know what it was. Mac explained, and wound up breaking up with her, but told her he still wanted to be a part of hers and Maxie's lives.
In a devastatingly sad twist of fate, Maxie's cousin BJ was killed in a bus accident. Maxie was then given her cousin's heart, saving her life. Frisco got called back to work by the WSB and left the hospital to pack his bags at the Brownstone. Realizing that there were still things left unsaid between them, Mac sent Felicia after Frisco. At the Brownstone, Felicia explained to Frisco why Mac broke up with her. Frisco & Felicia's old feelings resurfaced and they made love. The next day Frisco left for his WSB assignment.
A few months later, Felicia found out that she was pregnant, but she didn't know if the father was Mac or Frisco. She told Mac about the baby, and he was overjoyed at the thought of Felicia having his child. Mac proposed to her on the spot, but Felicia refused, and explained to him the child might not be his. Although hurt, Mac told Felicia he would stand by her no matter what. Mac agreed to take a blood test, the results of which proved that Frisco was the child's father.
Mac gave the shares of the Outback Felicia had bought for him back to her, making her half owner. They remained friends and partners through Felicia's pregnancy; her short reconciliation with Frisco; Robin & Stone's battle with AIDS; and through their relationships with Katherine and Tom.
One day a woman named Tess hired M&F to track down her deadbeat husband James, who happened to look exactly like Mac. M&F, however, did not realize that Tess & James were in cahoots. Tess & James tricked M&F into believing that James was dead and then kidnapped Mac. While Tess kept him prisoner, James assumed Mac's life in Port Charles. Even Felicia fell for James' act, although she was starting to become suspicious. Felicia noticed changes in "Mac's" behavior but had accepted the fake Mac's marriage proposal anyway. Eventually the real Mac escaped and the truth was uncovered about James & Tess and their plot to kill Jax. James & Tess were brought to justice, but M&F were still engaged.
They tried to call off their engagement numerous times, but their friends and family were so happy for them, that M&F didn't have the heart to tell them the truth. While "lying" to everyone, M&F began realizing that they really did love each other, yet neither one was willing to admit it.
The PCPD got M&F a wedding present -- a week in the Canadian Rockies. M&F couldn't bear to tell the officers the truth, so they went on the trip. There was tons of sexual tension in the air as they both headed off to bed (separately) on the first night. Because a cat had come in and swung the bedroom door open, M&F wound up meeting in the doorway of the bedroom saying "goodnight." Mac grabbed Felicia and they kissed passionately, until Felicia pulled away. After some bickering the next morning over who had kissed whom, they headed back to Port Charles and again tried to figure out how to break off their engagement.
Kevin & Lucy were also getting married, and asked M&F to join them in a double wedding. Mac accepted, explaining to Felicia that if they broke off their engagement at the altar, everyone would be so happy about Kevin & Lucy's nuptials they wouldn't be so upset over M&F's break-up.
On the night of his bachelor party, Mac admitted to Jax that he loved Felicia, but he was sure she only loved him as a friend. At the same time Felicia was at the PCPD admitting to V. that she loved Mac, but she felt she had no right to after she had hurt him so badly the last time they were engaged. Felicia went to Mac's house that night and found a "drunk," sleepy Mac. She put a blanket over him and kissed him on the cheek. Mac pulled Felicia close to him and they kissed. Felicia blamed the kiss on Mac's being "drunk" and got up to leave as Mac was "falling asleep." Mac opened his eyes, and Felicia stopped at the doorway, both wondering to themselves about what had just happened.
The night of the wedding rehearsal came, and Felicia went to pick up Mac at his house. They were taking inventory of all the gifts their friends had sent them when Mac, speaking to Felicia in his mind, told her how much he loved her. In turn, Felicia, speaking to Mac in her mind, told him she loved him. In both of their minds they kissed passionately, but in reality they were headed off to the church to practice their "fake" wedding.
They made it through the rehearsal and home for the night, but spoke to each other on the phone before they went to bed. Still, neither one was willing to admit how they felt about the other. As they hung up, a crying Felicia, and a saddened Mac both remembered all of the great times in their relationship and thought about how much they loved the other.
The next day at the wedding, Felicia walked down the aisle to Mac, with their eyes locked on each other. As Felicia turned to tell their friends and family that she and Mac were breaking up, Mac stopped her and proposed. Felicia's answer was, "Yes, yes, yes!" Kevin & Lucy's nuptials were interrupted at the altar and they didn't get married. Before the minister began to perform M&F's ceremony, Felicia turned to her friends and family and began telling the whole story of James, Tess and the fake engagement. She explained to Mac that she wanted to have a "fresh start" and she needed to come clean with everyone. M&F spoke vows from their hearts, and they were finally wed!! The reception was at Cafe Matisse where they rejoiced with Robin, Maxie, Georgie, and Maria over their new family.
Lucy had given M&F her tickets to Paris for their honeymoon. Felicia forgot the tickets at Cafe Matisse so she and Mac went back to get them. Before they left, Mac asked Felicia to dance, but Felicia said there was no music playing. Mac said "Don't you hear it?" to which Felicia responded "I hear it," and they danced to the music playing in their hearts.
Although chaos followed them wherever they went, M&F spent a blissful honeymoon in Paris.
When they got back to Port Charles, Felicia realized she had their wedding rings in her dresser drawer. Mac lit candles around Felicia's room at the Brownstone, and they exchanged vows and rings, and promised each other "forever."
Not long after their wedding, Mac was seriously wounded in a shoot-out at the Outback. A frantic Felicia sat by his hospital bed. Fortunately, Mac was going to be ok.
Months later, Felicia got involved in writing the memoirs of Lila Quartermaine, and recruited Luke Spencer as her partner. She was trying to help Luke get through the "death" of his son Lucky. In researching Lila's book, Luke & Felicia became very "close" and wound up locked in a crypt together. They had given up hope of ever getting out, and were about to kiss, when Mac broke in and saved them. Mac warned Luke to stay away from his wife.
Cesar Faison (who was responsible for the death of Robert & Anna Scorpio) came back to town and started wreaking havoc in the lives of M&F. Under an assumed name, he was also having Luke smuggle diamonds for him. After Felicia told Luke who he really was, they set out to stop him. Luke & Felicia wound up in Mexico together (Felicia lied to Mac and told him she was researching her book in Chicago) and after having a long deep conversation about life and love they gave into their feelings and kissed.
There was an attraction between Luke & Felicia that neither could deny and they became closer and closer over time. Felicia was guilt-ridden; and Mac was still in the dark about Luke & Felicia's budding "relationship."
Felicia was kidnapped by Faison, and both Luke & Mac went looking for her. Luke got to her first, but Faison trapped him in the cell where he was holding Felicia. Thinking they were about to die, Luke & Felicia almost made love, but Felicia pulled away because she couldn't be unfaithful to Mac. Their "rendezvous" was captured on video tape by Faison. Mac found the room where Luke & Felicia were being held, he saved them from Faison, and then arrested him.
From jail, Faison arranged to have the video put under the Scorpio's Christmas tree. Maxie & Georgie found the video and asked Mac if they could watch it together, but luckily they were interrupted by a visitor. Later Mac watched the tape and saw his wife's indiscretion. He tried to get Felicia (and Luke) to admit to him what had happened but neither one was talking. Felicia then received her own copy of the video tape in the mail. She panicked that Mac would find out about her and Luke. Faison escaped from jail and was headed away from Port Charles, when his boat exploded and he "died." M&F were happy that Faison could no longer hurt them, but they were both suffering from knowing what had been caught on video.
Eventually a tearful Mac confronted Felicia
about the video and her relationship with Luke. As Luke & Felicia's attraction
continued to grow, Mac & Felicia's marriage began deteriorating. After
several tries to stay together, the couple decided to divorce.
Mac & Felicia continue to be close friends, and Mac maintains a loving parental relationship
with Maxie & Georgie.
